Allow me to reintroduce myself. My Name is Andrew and I used to be an active member on here. For those who have been on Oppositelock for a long while might remember that I am a disciple of The Miata is Always The Answer cult. While I still love those little roadsters, I have broadened my car ownership. Currently I own the MK7 GTI above and I still have my NA Miata. The GTI is slightly modified with a JB4 Tune, Eibach Pro-Kit, and 034 Motorsports Camber plates. My Miata has slightly changed since my last update with new wheels, Koni Yellows, FM springs, Recaro Profi, and a roll bar.
While I was away from OPPO I was able to work an Internship at GM Bowing Green aka Corvette Assembly. I was specifically in the Performance Build Center where the LT4 and LT5 were hand built. After graduating from college I worked as a Maintenance Supervisor in a Distillery, and now I am about to start as a maintenance supervisor in a different manufacturing industry. Below are some various pictures from different events and car related trips I’ve taken over these past few years.
Bonus C8 Corvette Pre-production Captured Test fleet shots, since I live down the street from the plant

Yes, I sought my specific GTI because I wanted the Nightfall Blue Metallic.

Hello from another Andrew with a MK7!
How do you like the JB4? I want to do a tune after winter and was leaning towards just going with APR but the JB4 intrigues me.

White GTIs unite! I also have a JB4, so I’ll chime in.
If you want to keep your warranty, it’s 100% the way to go. I’m running map2 and couldn’t be happier. Great response, the extra power is wonderful, and the sky’s the limit if you want to go crazy with it. Install is very straight forward, but plug C is a pain since you pretty much have to get to it from the bottom, which requires removing the plastic cover under the engine bay. Other than that, it works well
, and
has never given me a problem. I use the usb connection, but bluetooth would be nice. I just don’t want to pay the bluetooth price.

Your 7.5 looks great! That’s funny we have a Two White & Two Blue GTI’s in this thread. Thanks for the information. I do have some warranty left, so that is why I want to consider the JB4. It didn’t look to bad to install from watching some videos on it. We’ll see, stock power has been good for now, but my friends all have tuned MK7's so it’s time.

I love the JB4 tuner. I have the Bluetooth module so I can change tunes on the fly and also do data logging. I was originally going to go Unitronic Stage 1.5 since I have 93 octane locally, but I picked up the JB4 for $280 then added the Bluetooth. Power wise on map2 with 93 octane it’s about on par with an APR Stage 1 car, but you can set up a custom map, which I use for E30 blend and it pulls. If you buy it new, George from BMS will actually work with you on dialing in the custom map for no charge, and he can set it up so it helps make the clutch last. The only downsides to the JB4 are that it doesn’t remove the speed limiter, and plug C can be a pain to get too. I personally got it from the top, but it was a tight squeeze, however you can remove the front pan and it’s super easy to get from the bottom. Here is a screen shot of the app with the gauges I choose to monitor.
