Ran into a lovely piece of shit on my way home. Ninja 300, expensive helmet, shorts and a tee shirt.

Appearently, he needs a 100 yard buffer between him and the next car when HE is Lane splitting. I move over a lane after seeing him, he gets all pissy, rides next to me for half a mile making all sorts of hand guestures, and punches my mirror, and runs away.

Dude, seriously? I ride these roads every freaking week on a bike with service costs more than your fucking 300. If ANYONE knows how much space to give a bike it’s me.

All I’ve got to say is he’s lucky it wasn’t anyone else but me, because they would have put him in the ground. If by some miracle your reading this, come replace my mirror while I polish the chicken strips off your tires.

I’m of the opinion guys should be chemically castrated from the onset of puberty to about age 26.  Turds like that dickhead are why I haven’t had kids.

Ugh. Yeah I saw a chode on a fucking RUCKUS giving someone shit for being too far over while he was splitting lanes.....in a state where it is illegal to split lanes and he was using the bicy c le lane. I tried to calm him down as I was also on my bike at the time and he got super pissy at me and said I was trying to kill him so I just decided if he wanted to illegally lane split on a ruckus while wearing cargo shorts and a t-shirt with flip flops, that was on him at that point.

Squids don’t listen to reason. If they did, they wouldn’t be squids.

Did the idea to take a look at his plate and bike/clothing then pull over and report him to the cops occur to you?

Your behavior was Grade AAA response to passive aggressive antics. This did quickly cross the line into illegal use of force in response to (one sided claim) defensive riding. If you don’t want an insurance claim they put out a bulletin on him and let you know if it turns up anything to allow pressing charges formally.

Tried, but the bike plates are tiny, only got the first 2 numbers. Not really worth putting in a claim, 80 bucks for a mirror on eBay and it's behind me

SIDPE, always means acting before your life is in the balance to assure events don’t transpire that could place it there. Glad you are safe and hopefully you don’t give out any more free opportunities to nutcases. Taking the upper hand through body language that isn’t aggressive and failing to escalate verbally or present an easy target can decide them the other way about how it’s going to turn out.

Oh boy, did I have a pucker moment with a cyclist the other morning. He knew he screwed up and gave me a “thanks for not killing me” wave. Guy’s lucky I am one of the few people that actually pays attention on my morn ing commute.

I saw a guy riding today with no helmet or eye pro. If you want to risk a debilitating head injury, that’s on you. But how do you even ride with no eye protection?  Especially in the desert where our roads are filled with sand and gravel?

I t was a nice moment of two strangers treati ng each other with respect,  despite someone making a mistake. The world needs more of that. No need for people to be so agro all the time.
