I’m visiting my cousin in Indianapolis this weekend and am looking for some suggestions. I’ve already been to IMS and the museum there. We’ll have all day on Saturday and part of Sunday.

Kinja'd!!!

I’d like to do some photography stuff. I’m also limited health wise right now. I have a cold sensitivity (hypothyroidism) and the cold is triggering my asthma so outside stuff isn’t the best unless it’s for a very short period.

Restaurants and inside stuff would be great though.

Edit: Also I don’t drink.

L ots of craft beer there. Go to breweries, drink beer indoors. That’s it, that’s the list.

Kurt Vonnegut Museum if that type of thing is interesting to you.

You could always drive through a state park and stick your camera out the window.

Indianapolis City Market

In that case, I’m sorry to report that you are going to be very bored (just kidding). Sorry my suggestion wasn’t more helpful!

Museum of Art is worth the visit. They also have some gardens outside that are wonderful in the Spring, but it’s a little too early...yeah, just checked the weather. Saturday will be sunny but cold. Also the Children’s Museum is fun for grownups too. You should go there.

The City Market was a good suggestion. If you’re downtown I’d say eat at Shapiro’s Deli. I posted about lunch there a couple months ago. The cheesecake is worth the trip alone.

Are you at all interested in a classical music concert? The ISO is playing Schumann this weekend. The circle theatre is gorgeous, and the music is first rate.

If I can think of anything else worth it I’ll update.

Update: go see the Eitelijorg Museum of  Native American cultures. It’s highly rated and has restaurants too.

The World War Museum is something I thoroughly enjoyed and would like to go to again.

The indoor portion of WRSG should be photogenic but will be better once the butterflies arrive. Haven’t been there in February before.

Similarly, the Garfield Park Conservatory should be nice and warm.

The Central Library has some nice views of downtown from the top floor.

Pricy but hard to beat the view from the Eagles Nest restaurant, and it rotates so your view keeps changing.

If it’s open, the Scottish Rite Cathedral is stunning .

My all time favorite burger joint has a location in Indy. Kumas Indy. Each burger is named after a rock/metal band, and comes with a variety of ingredients. I do the Pantera (bacon, shredded Monterey Jack Cheese, roasted Poblano, tortilla chips, and then drizzled in a homemade ranchero salsa) then add a fried egg. So far, every person I know that has tried if from my recommendation has returned satsfied.
