WRX

I really want one some day. The AWD system, manual, the size and especially the rally history. I’d want an STI wing and gold wheels. I know the wing is STI only but I want it.

I agree, because as much as I’d love a fun 2-seat RWD something or other, these are a blast in summer and winter, and you can take kids / skis / bikes /etc anywhere you want in any weather, too. Rally blue or nothing.

Before by my 2017 forester last April I was looking at WRXs. But since this car was only gonna be used to go to work and back everyday I decided the forester would be a more economic choice and reasonable choice. Now if they still made WRX wagons that would be sitting in my yard right now. Didn’t want a sti since it is less everyday friendly that the WRX. My first choice in colour for a WRX was charcoal but mostly finding blue or red ones. Now I should of looked for a Forester XT to have the best of both worlds. The WRX drive train with the driving position and interior space. Even if only auto.  Since the wife drives my car from time to time auto was the reasonable solution. But one day I will get my weekend manual again.

I’ve heard that with the current gen the 2.0 is a better engine reliability wise. If it was in my price range though it would be amazing to have the upgraded AWD system.

Ehh the wings are overrated. Although I do think they are far more important on the new gens. Otherwise the thing looks like a damn Corolla from anywhere other than the front. I don’t think I’d like the park bench on mine though!

I agree, the versatility gets me. I really would like AWD on my next car. Rally blue is what I’d want.

I would have kept this one if it had made sense. Great color, 5 speed manual, awd. Fun, capable, reliable, safe, and better on the highway than a WRX. (edit: pic - )

I drove manuals from 95 to 2015 when I crashed my 6 speed and SX4 and used the insurance money to buy our 7 passenger CVT pathfinder. Then finally replaced my wife’s 2011 Elantra with the CVT forester since she don’t drive manual. Decided that with 4 kids we are better off with two cars we can both drive instead of transferring the booster seats from one to another car.
