Is anyone else watching these idiots spend millions of dollars to find wood and the occasional piece of lead.

I can’t stop watching. I bet they find some wood tonight. They’re always finding wood or lead. Two of the least exciting things for any treasure hunter to find.

And!!! What’s up with the Bobby Dazzler guy. You couldn’t metal detect that whole island in this many years? Isn’t it like season 7 or some shit. He gets so hard with a top pocket find that it takes him a couple weeks to walk off the boner.

Captain Kirk is making an appearance tonight. Wtf!?!? I don’t remember Shat ner ever getting a bone over some wood on Star trek.

Anyway, I can’t stop watching this silly show. I believe there isn’t anything buried there anymore. It seems like what was put in the ground was retrieved by whoever put it there and they destroyed the way in on their way out.

Myself and a couple co workers watch it regularly.  Gotta use the DVR though.  Run through the whole hour in about 10 minutes.  That’s about all the real content there is.

We were watching one show and they found these metal coiled fragments made of tungsten and they kept going on about how they must be ancient remnants of aliens...my alternate theory? Light bulb broke.

I’ve been there for tours twice during the day before the show existed. Something very odd historically definitely did happen there from legitimate things they’ve found , but...TV being TV....the show dramatizes everything to the millionth degree. It’s not really creepy there, it’s just an island, but there are certainly some odd historical constructions.

there use d to be a really good pair of afternoon radio hosts in Boston (WAAF) . One of those guys is the narrator. They used to give him so much shit every time he brought up Oak Island. WAAF didn’ t renew their contract, no notice. Eventually they got rid of / traded / lost the morning show group and soon after sold to christian radio.

I am %100 fully committed to see this show until the end. The money they spend is nearly insulting, the narration is over exaggerated, half the show is repeat information, and the sneak peaks are over hyped and misleading. The production quality of this show is about as click bait as it can possibly be. But clearly something huge and massively labor intensive happened on that island with little to no record of it being done and I NEED TO KNOW WHAT AND WHY!! I don’t care if they find an empty hole, I couldn’t give two shits about the “treasure” I just want to know why all that work was done.

There are a lot of things I like about the show though. T he structures and artifacts they find are actually very interesting because they’re just so out of place, the history and theories are interesting and well presented , and as much as I’m internally screaming to just open pit the whole damn island, the engineer in me really appreciates how scientific and environmentally conscious they’re being.

Beyond that everyone on the show seems to be genuinely good people, clearly not in it for the money and much more interested in the story and preserving the historical significance of it.
