It’s a thing. We were at around 8k feet in a cabin that ran entirely off solar panels and a windmill. Rain water was harvested off the roof and plumbed to all the faucets.  Lots of coyotes in the area:

Compared to the rest of the West we only have baby mountains in Arizona. Our tallest peak is being obscured by clouds in the background of that photo. It sits at around 12,600 feet.

F riends of mine just moved from Switzerland to Australia. They were my free place to crash when in central Europe, so it looks like I’ll have to start touring Oz.

The Shire Council area (county?) within which we live is 1/4 the size of Switzerland and almost exactly the same area as that of the Australian mainland alpine area...[I'll stop now]
