I somehow didn’t know, or had forgotten, that Jeep released a Golden Eagle during the TJ years (specifically, the very end of that generation). Had a brief chat with this driver today on my way out of Florida.
Last year’s Toledo Jeep Fest included several Golden Eagles from previous eras.

The guy who rents the garage next to me has one. It’s his daily and in rough shape. He also has a 67 Firebird, a 1973 VW Bus, a Mercury Comet, a 1953 Chevy pickup and a couple Harleys.
He is also an addict who entertains prostitutes in his garage sometimes.
What I’m trying to say is that in my experience that Golden Eagle Jeep leads to whoring.

Man...my buddy (who sells cars at the local Ford dealer) took a Golden Eagle in on a trade a few years ago and it was in immaculate condition. He was trying to get me to come in and buy it but I just couldn’t. He would’ve got me a good deal on it but it was still high. I believe they put a sale price of $16k on it when it made it to the used lot. It was gone within days.

I went to high school with this guy. He has been a train wreck since we were kids. He has a wif e and a young daughter. He also likes to go across the river to the casino and gamble. Then he likes to tell me all about it.

I’ve found that the hood decal can still be bought. Once my AMC Eagle is repainted I’m slapping one on its hood. The things is half Jeep at this point anyway...
