I bought a car today. I traded in the Ralliart and got a new-to-me Jaguar F-Type Coupe R in BRG. It’s a 2015 model, which is the one year where the US got the RWD version of the 550hp R model. It has only 13,600 miles and was barely even farted in.

Nice choice, I like these. I don’t keep track but haven’t heard of real horror stories, while they still have some quirkiness (ICE is as expected). I had a relative of this as a rental car in Germany a couple years ago, great experience:

Thanks. Yeah, agreed. They are relatively good. Water pumps and electronics are the main issues. Occasionally the superchargers die. I did grab the extended 5yr 60k warranty when they offered to do it essentially at cost. It’s almost certain that something will pay for the warranty. If not, that’s cool too - it wasn’t terribly expensive .

Coming soon. I’m going to get it legitimately detailed and ceramic coated first then do a photo shoot. Their rush job on the detail left a couple holograms.

Nope, still have the Miata for a daily. Though I’m in the “can’t have many friends” club now. I own 6 seats spread over 3 cars.

Agreed. I really wish it had a stick but I can also understand why they didn’t put a niche stick in a niche trim of a niche car.

Tangentially related, I recently noticed that the base model F-Type on the used market has slipped down into the price range I’ve been looking to maintain for my new daily driver. If I don’t remind myself constantly that I really, really shouldn’t own two 2-seaters, I might convince myself to just go out and buy one.

I drive a 2009 Nissan Cube that has the same orange-backlit double-din CD player that every cheap Nissan vehicle had for about a decade , and a 2000 Corvette that until a couple weeks ago still had a cassette deck . The aftermarket Kenwood unit I put into my C5 is the first time I’ve had Bluetooth in a car I’ve owned other than through an a uxiliary port dongle.

Infotainment systems really don’t take a lot to impress me, sad to say . But all the same, I’ll probably go with the XE. Same supercharged V6 as the base F-Type, with the benefit of a backseat for the doggo.

But yes, awesome is absolutely an apt descriptor.
