The really strange thing about this strip is that it’s one of several with fish doing weird jaunts into the air and/or with dryness. Theres:

The one with the fish who “went over the wall”

The one with the fish in the deep-sea-diver suit exploring the piano

The “dryed his bed” one

The fish mafia with styrofoam “shoes”

The fish in the small fishbowl car driving up onto land

The fish playing baseball with the ball up on land

Then there are the other ones like the fish Christmas tree about to get plugged in.

Someone’s goldfish died when he was a kid and was never forgiven for it.

Unrelated, much as all horses are given the official  birthdate of January 1, regardless of the actual day, are all fish assumed to be Pisces?
