Saw a thing, was admittedly oohing and awing.

Went to a stop in Kirkland today with a coworker because reasons. In the garage was a Eastside Special ho-hum new black-on-black Macan. T he second I pulled up, the wife came out — without an actual hi, hey, hello — and loudly warned me that she’s leaving in 45 minutes so I better be gone by then. She looked malnourished but was certainly “peppy .” Sometimes vehicle ownership stereotypes hold true...

Kinja'd!!!

But something else was in the garage: a Midnight Blue DB11 V12. The paint was so dark, you had to really look for any light sources so see that beautiful blue. The owner was proud and friendly, but it was noooooooot quote appropriate to snap a photo. There was sense of urgency throughout the air, as us various trades crowded the inside of the home. And there were various possessions crammed in the garage as well, so photography was not on the table.

Anyway... gorgeous car.

I've driven past one of those for three days now. I thought it was black until today, when I came early enough for the sunlight to reflect off it. Gorgeous color

Personalized plates? One of the old C-suite suits had one of those in my office parking garage.

Rust and plow truck scares me on the latter. For the former,  I remember those aero style extended cabs fared poorly in crash tests when new, which scares me at 20+ years old. Both also don’t seem particularly cheap. This won’t be an easy search in your area.

why can’t i have nice things :(

yea ouch teh crash test is horrific on the 97-03s

You can have nice things, you just have to pay up :)

That rust doesn’t look awful, I guess. All I see is scale, no holes or anything bent etc. Body rust would bug me more.  The cabs and beds can go in a scary way, with holes compromising structural integrity.  Another question is, how long do you plan to keep this thing? Eventually the rust will grow.

Not sure how long I'll have it. Possibly a couple years. I think I could spray the frame with bedliner

I suspect it would be OK for a couple years.  I might use some of that bedliner or POR-15 in a lot of places.
