A while back, my mother-in-law was trying to get rid of random crap in her house, by encouraging my wife and I to accept random items of hers. Most of these items were of no interest to us, but there was a waffle iron in the mix. I knew there were all kinds of things other than waffle batter you can put in a waffle iron, so I took the waffle iron.

Of course, since accepting the waffle iron, we moved, and it got filed away in the back of a storage area or something, and I forgot about it. But today, I randomly encountered a really good idea: tater tot waffles. All that’s involved in making them is greasing up the waffle iron and shoving a bunch of tater tots in it. I will definitely be firing up my waffle iron to do this very soon!

I’ve made cinnamon roll waffles on my iron before and while they weren’t mind-blowing it was a fun, quick alternative to doing them in the oven.

Well I guess it looks cool. Cleaning waffle iron is a pain

Hmmm....I’ll stick to regular tots.

(Same thing happens for most ‘pinterest’ recipes Mrs CDD shows me...skillet spaghetti? Overnight oatmeal? Refrigerator cooked rice? )

This would be a good base.

We have this thing in Stlouis called a Slinger.

Hash browns topped with 1-2 hamburger patties, easy over fried eggs, topped with no bean chili, and cheese (and chopped onions if you prefer). We substitute the hashbrowns for spaghetti and our kids gobble it up. If I get ahold of a waffle maker it would make this dish easier with tatter tots.
