I should have clarified... It was brought from one of the used car dealers we deal with a lot it was a month out of warranty but probably wasn’t serviced for a few years

Not sure what the substance is. It had a cover, car is NCNS, lots of dead modules. Was tracing powers (and lack thereof) and found this going on. I hadn’t thought about someone trying a graphite lube. Maybe an attempt to prevent moisture issues with the wrong stuff. It’s so dirty I think the cover may have been missing at some point.

I work at an auto body shop & as of this year has started to charge for detailing... This particular job we did however, had to call in a professional detailer because the dash and seats were a combo of muffin mix and coke a cola and created some nasty stains...

Tried to convince the sales manager to let me turn it into a Gambler 500 car. He wants to clean and sell it instead

Ford Triton. A valve smacked a piston and piston exploded. You can see the rings laying in the pile. Sounded like shit but yeah we drove it into the shop.

...Customer saw a little smoke, asked for me to adjust the brakes. I take a look at the wheel and notice the whole set is angled up. Jacked up the axle and peeked at the wheel seal incase of oil dripping on brakes. The seal was NOT in the hub, immediate tear down. No oil to be found in hub, removed hub found the spindle bent and inner bearings welded to it. Easy money for the spindle doctor tomorrow.

...the truck was bought new in 1993 and has done nothing but plow snow in a parking lot its entire life.

...I showed him the 3k repair order (vehicle has 220k miles- long commute between cities)and he said “I’ve been toying with the idea of getting rid of this car ...but if I get rid of it, I’m going to get rid of it on MY terms. When can you have it done?” I think he has bigger things going on then putting oil in his car lol.

From that day forward if I have to do that same maneuver I lay the positive handle down on the battery and use the negative handle to hold it up. It’s still not safe but much safer than what I used to do.

I’m actually impressed at the amount of stuff I wouldn’t like to requote here that followed.

With one exception. I had to quit when someone asked about the 710 level.

That one was pure beauty. 16K miles with no more than a few of those outside a single parking lot. That means a good sized fraction of that again in reverse since it’s a plow truck. I’m in awe of how efficiently someone balanced low cost of upkeep and functionality to such a degree.

That plow truck is a helluva thing! It's a great example of there being a lot more to a vehicle's condition than mileage.
