I got into a car accident on the 6 (not my fault) without getting into details. The 6 was a great car and i will truly miss it. I love Mazda interior and ended up replacing it with a 2016 Mazda Cx 5 in soul red GT. I had surgery on my left foot due to the accident and a sore back.

The 6 held up very nice if you saw the interior you would of thought nothing happened, minus the airbag being deployed.

Damn, glad the 6 saved you...hope the surgery is healing OK. The car did it’s job. We love them, but they can always be replaced.

Beautiful CX-5!

Thank you, the 6 did its job for sure i was able to walk away from it, i will miss having a sedan but the move to a crossover was the wives decision as we have 2 kids but i told her if it wasn’t a Mazda cx 5 it was going to be a no from me lol (we have a crv).

ouch. it gave its life to save you.

Modern cars are almost miracles. That kind of hit would have been really, really bad for you in anything built in the ‘90s or earlier.

a 2013 Fusion after a similar hit (Silverado turned left in front)

Ouch, that looks like a nasty hit. It’s definitely a good thing they don’t make ‘em like they used to...

Hope you have a swift and successful recovery!

I don’t think I’m alone in exclaiming holy hell that was a hell of a hit. Sounds like you are mostly okay. Do they even still sell the 6? I saw a used one and it looked great.

They do, and you can get it with a turbo again.

The 6 was given as one of the best uses car buys not too long ago. A few had manual transaxles. I couldn’t find one and bought a 3 which, except for all of its ROAD NOISE, I really enjoy driving.

I'm glad you are recovering and it sounds like your family is well, both of which are good things.

Glad the 6 held up, Mazda really has done a great job with safety in their current gen cars. CX5s are great too, only thing I would say to watch out for on yours is the DRLs but there's  a recall coming soon that should take of that.

Cx 5 is nice i havent had a chance to drive it yet as my foot and back problems prohibit me, but so far the interior is great and the infotainment system not so much i cant get my iphone to play over USB.

You have good taste in cars; I will be replacing my 3 (th at the wife drives) with either a 6 or CX5 when it finally decides to pack it in .

I can understand that....the only two crossovers we get in Canada that I don’t mind are Mazdas and the Hyundai Kona...you can’t get the Kona with a manual though....does the CX-3 have a manual option?

God bless you, that was a extremely hard hit but that Mazda held up well, I love Mazda period but I have owned ever body styl e the 6 have starting when they first started making the 6 replacing the 626 which I traded that in to get the first Mazda 6,I had a 2014 6 gt but had a guy rear ended me last year and totaled it out. I have a Altima now but I truly miss my 6 and I am working on getting another 6!!! Great dependable cars!!

Year s ago (2013) I test drove a Mazda 3 and VW Golf back to back. I was struck by how quiet the Golf was in comparison . The 3 was just a louder vehicle and doors did not close with a resounding thunk like the Golf.

Drives really well though. I don't have much experience with newer VWs, though I drove a Jetta last year, perhaps a 2013, and I was REALLY impressed with how it drove. People said the transmissions in those are made of glass

I got into an accident on my Mazda 6 as well, not my fault. Airbag deployed, car totaled, I came out of it okay except for a soft tissue pain on my back. I got another Mazda 6, a 2015 Touring with a 19 inch wheels. I’m a loyal Mazda fan. Thank you for sharing your story. I love my Mazda6, I had that car since 2012, never gave me any problems. It handled the front impact really well.

I got a mazda cx5. Was backing up the other night down an icy hill that was a dead end with no turn around. Ended up sliding sideways and backwards into a 8x8 solid wood fence post. The fence post was destroyed and snapped clean off. My rear bumber only suffered a scuff mark and a tiny 3inch tear. The cx5 now seems like a tank to me. I hit that post so hard i thought I totalled the rear end.
