This is the 1969 Dodge Super Charger concept car. Not gonna lie, I frickin’ love this thing. I want to create a more detailed post about it, but researching it is difficult because googling it results in article after article and photo after photo of this stupid thing:
I mean, I like a well-done restomodded Charger as much as the next guy, but I JUST WANT TO KNOW MORE ABOUT THE FREAKING DAYTONA ROADSTER. What I do know about it is that 1) I t still exists, apparently, and seems to be owned by someone in Rhode Island. 2) I t was based on an earlier concept car which shared the roadster bodywork but lacked the Daytona nose:
3) There was a magazine article about it back in the day, though I can’t seem to find said article besides one page:
4) The car made a brief appearance in a movie called “Truck Turner, 1974", which I’ve never heard of and have no idea how I would watch now :
Anybody know more about this thing?

Truck Turner is fucking awesome. Better known from the theme being used in a scene in kill bill vol. 1 when the bride is escaping a hospital looking for the pussy wagon

Personally I think it needs the giant Daytona wing.

Unresearched question - longest 2 seat car ? S hould’ve made it dodge.

I want to like it but a 2 seater that’s 18 feet long a nd not a truck goes against every thing I stand for.

I dunno, I kinda like the little wing integrated into the bodywork on this one. Nothing will ever top the insanity of the Daytona wing, but the wing on the Super Charger makes the car a bit more unique I think , and I feel like the giant Daytona wing would look a little o ut of place on a roadster. But that’s just my opinion.

I kinda like the long and low proportions of it, though it is definitely ridiculously huge for a two-seater.

You have a point, I just think the Daytona nose must always come with the wing. It would look weird with just the wing and no nose IMO.

Never before have I needed something so much and not known until I saw it.

I’m not sure if the “MOPAR” in the article is Mopar Performance News of March 1990 or High Performance Mopar, or what. I’m seeing some association with Mopar Muscle, but it’s hard to tell if that’s exactly who Mr. Campisano was working for at the time, and he appears to have been around the industry a good bit. Might have been Mopar Collector’s Guide, as they did an article in Nov. ‘93.
Found in this thread:
http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,1369.0/all.html
Also apparently featured in Mopar Muscle in ‘96 (further down that thread).

T he small blocks of text in the page indicate that the author of the post is writing about his experience riding in the thing, if that provides any clues. Now I really wish I could read that article...

The best part is that so far as I can tell, it's all one piece. I can't see any panel gap between the front clip and nose cone. It's fully integrated. Not even the Daytona or Superbird have that.

never heard of it before
