I had gloves on and having a hell of a time getting pandora to skip to the next song. The n ext thing I know I’m on the grass and near ran into a tree.
fortunately for me, that image came from a goog le search and I was actually running, not driving, so the worst that could have happened was me getting a sore nose and feeling like an idiot.

If you have an iPhone, you can say, “Hey Siri! Skip this song!” and it will skip the song.

You can double click one of the buttons to do skip
![]() 02/18/2020 at 09:55 |

Then you want “OK Google, Next” (or “Hey Google, Next” if you don’t care about sounding like a long time Google Assistant user.)

I would drive through that for fun!

I use Siri voice commands all the time while I’m driving. My brother tells me that in order for it to work, your phone has to be listening to everything you say. I’m okay with that.

Also yes, get some headphones with playback controls. They are pretty hard to avoid unless all your earbuds are airline freebies.

Yep. When I was commuting regularly, every trip in the car basically started with:
“OK Google, play music” (or an audio book)
and then
“OK Google, navigate to
In theory, they shouldn’t be listening for anything other than the wake word, which then triggers sending additional audio to Google (or whoever). Of course in practice they can mishear and end up sending stuff they shouldn’t, but I find the voice commands both convenient and Star Treky.

I use it to read and send text messages. It nails the dictation about 90% of the time. Also to make calls on the speaker (not a whole lot of hands free in my 13-year-old Odyssey).

I had a woman walk into the center of the grill of my parked work truck while staring at her phone. My work truck has 5 led strobes visible from the front that were flashing at the time.

I had a similar experience about a month ago. Except I was driving.
I was out on a side road and looking down at my phone getting google maps set up for directions. Next thing I knew I had snow coming up over the windshield. Thankfully I wasn’t going more than 20mph? But that just proves that going slower doesn’t make you impervious to crashing into something if you’re not paying attention.
Lesson learned, if your distracted just stop.

One of the funniest things I’ve ever witnessed was my best friend walking into a sign pole. He was too busy talking to me to watch where he was going. :D

And being a good friend you didn’t say anything to warn him and gave him shit for it afterward, right?

Of course I didn’t warn him. We were walking the same direction, a few feet apart. I was switching between looking ahead and looking at him. I assumed he was doing the same. There were four or five of us in the group at the time. You can bet he still hears about it to this day. :)
