My wife drives a white ‘07 4cyl Camry. I really don’t like driving it because of the numb steering and goofy pedal inputs, but damn that thing is good at “being a car”. It’s got about 185k on the dial and drives like a car with 50k. It’s easy to work on (though seldom required) and easy on the pocket in all respects.
As a driving enthusiast it’s hard to love it. I call it the refrigerator because it’s an appliance. That said, I recommend them to everyone whose just looking for a car. It’s the one in the stable I’d jump in and drive to the other end of the country without hesitation.
Despite the numb and weird inputs, it does handle extremely well. It is “grounded to the ground LOL”, which surprised me considering the skinny 16" tires. If the feel were better, like say in an old Civic, it’d be a solid platform for enthusiastic driving. I wonder if that stuff can be fixed.
The fuel mileage is also ridiculously good . I can leadfoot that thing for an entire tank and still average somewhere in the 30's. It also has more rear seat room than my brother’s Grand Marquis.
Again, I can’t praise it enough at “being a car”, but don’t enjoy it from an enthusiast standpoint.
