Honda powered, ground effects, sport SUV?
A true icon of weird cars, I totally need one, shame I can't find basically any for sale (except one I found in Florida), trying all car sale search engines Nationwide comes up with a ton of the second gen redline which is terrible, good new is that I saw one a few weeks ago, if I see it again I might just ask to buy it from the owner.

My ex-wife wanted a Vue so bad. I have no idea why, other than that her 1997 Saturn SW2 wagon was fun to drive (5-speed), reliable, and got good mileage. I don’t think she ever did get one, though.

It s really weird, I think the original Vue was a huge trend as I see so many of them for sale and still driving around, but I barley see any redlines, which makes sense considering it was an SUV first and a “ sports car” second, but damn if it ain't a challenge to buy a redline these days

Looks like, at least according to Autotrader, there’s only six Red Lines for sale nation-wide.
It’s hard to tell from the wikipedia page but the second generation
looks
like it still uses the Honda 3.5?
According to the J35 page
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_J_engine#J35S
, the J35S1 is only in 04-07s. Bummer. None are for sale.
Weeeeeird.

Man, i remember kinda liking these when they came out. They can’t be much faster than a ‘normal’ modern compact SUV though right? Something like the first gen RDX, or a Rav-4 from that period when Toyota said “Fuck it” and put their 260 hp engine in it.

Some good friends of mine had a red, Honda V-6 (but not redline) one of these from new until about a year and 275k ago. That thing had basically no maintenance beyond an occasional oil change and they drove it for over a decade without missing a beat. It soldiered on for years after being hit while parked by a garbage truck. It sported plenty of red racers tape to keep the water out inside from broken plastic body panels, but it still kept on going.

Yeah they're rates for 250 hp form a Honda j35 to the crank, so not that fast, but faster than other compact SUVs of the time and class I guess

I guess they also had an available M/T, which admittedly
is
ultra cool. I actually think a huge part of the
reason I hate driving SUV’s has to do with the fact that so few of them come with manuals. When I do get to drive one with a manual, i find I can much more easily enjoy the experience.
I secretly kind of want a first generation Cayenne GTS with a manual.
