In an effort to get healthy not die early get some sick lap times I have made every car I drive 45 lbs lighter over the last year. Mad!

Like many Opponaugh ts I love to eat. Hell ... I’m a magical construct made out of melty cheese and spicy pepperoni! I know some of you are tackling similar issues and I just wanted to offer encouragement . You can do it!

My doctor really wanted me to reduce my LDLs so I started tracking my calories, keeping them to about 2k a day and only eating between noon and 8:00pm. Over the course of 6 months I lost 40lbs and my LDLs went up .

Ugh! Well I got the sick lap times I guess. I’m going to keep these eating habits up though and hopefully I can get off the BP and Cholesterol meds and live a long life of annoying my children.

Think of it as burning higher octane and using synthetic oil. The goal is to safely clean off and flush out all the deposits at cost of some added maintenance.

Just keep working towards a day you are off the pills and can eat selectively but normally.

i’m pretty sure i could remove 45 lbs from my wife’s van just by vacuuming the seats where the kids sit.

Muscle does weigh more than fat.

Good work! I started an exercise routine this spring. I haven’t really lost any weight yet, but I have to wear my belt a notch tighter and my face is getting thinner.

My mother-in-law was pre-diabetic with high cholesterol before changing her diet and starting a daily exercise routine. She’s now shaped like a stick and the diabetes is no longer a concern, but she still has high cholesterol problems. Some problems just can’t be fixed without meds.

Good luck with yours!

I went on a cross country bicycle trip with a youth group. We bike like 40-50 miles a day for a week. I swear I gained 13 pounds by the end of it.

Sometimes it starts out slow but you’ll get there man if you keep it up.

Yeah pretty sure I’ll be taking cholesterol meds but hopefully get off the blood pressure meds.

That’s the plan. I’m not dieting I’m changing the way I eat permanently. Changing the tune to burn more efficiently and not leave as much carbon.

which is a perfectly good diet plan too, live on only discarded cheerios and crushed gold fish crackers

Thanks for this actually. I need to start doing this. I am at my all time high right now, it's really gotten out of hand.

If I can do it you can do it!

I signed up for myfitness pal an d set my goal to lose 1 lbs a week. Then I just stuck to the caloric restrictions it set for me, but not everyday. Sometimes you need to drink a bunch of beers or eat a way too much   pizza. Thinking you’ll stick to it every day is foolish.

Today didn’t go well, I already ate a donut and a cookie.

I’ll try myfitnesspal.

Some days are worse than others.

It was eye opening to me to see the amount of calories I was normally consuming. If you want we can be friends on myfitnesspal. Sometimes it helps to know someone else is looking. HMU at my username at yahoo if you want.
