It’s so funny how these have gone from “couldn’t give them away” 10 years ago to all of a sudden fashionable.

Should probably sock away a dozen 90s SL500s now...

I was thinking the exact same thing on all accounts.

Don’t know how “suddenly fashionable”... they sold like crazy here in SoCal, so sometimes seem WAY more common than high selling Toyotas of the same timeframe.

I’ve been sorta looking for one and know I’ll be able to find a good example yet for under $4K.  I’m sure the Bring A Trailer of Cash example will bring a lot more than that though.  It’s got classic lines.

SLs (good driver+ cars ) were $2500 (380/450s) -$5000 (560s) all day long in Connecticut ten years ago.

They’ve always had a following in CA, I don’t think they ever fell out of fashion. But in CT, they were boat anchors as the titans of the 19 70s and 80s died or moved to Florida.

You see some ratty ones out here... and honestly you see original owner cars in BH, with under 20K miles, looking like brand new.

I really like the lines.  A lot.

I never liked the hardtop design , but they sure look fantastic with the top down.
