Yes, the extra trips are evened out because the actual travel time is much shorter.

Now that’s a friend I wouldn’t mind lending my truck to.

You’re braver than I. I wouldn’t loan my jalopy to anyone, for liability reasons alone. And if I had a nice shiny truck like yours, I wouldn't let someone move with it even if they loaned me an Espada.

I did think about, I figure if he's got insurance to cover a Corvette it'll probably cover my truck.

I let someone borrow the Miata for a week, and he lent me his manual V10 dodge pickup so I could do dump runs. We both had an absolute blast, but, uh... Between you and me.... I legitimately struggled to not spin the wheels in 1st and 2nd. I would have felt bad if he hadn't warned me!

Was it one of the SRT-10 trucks? I would love to own one of those.

I don’t think so, but I’m not positive. 90's, had the classic dodge hood ornament. It definitely wasn’t sporty in the slightest. Felt like a big work truck that happened to have an overpowered engine in it. Shifts were super long and sloppy, turning was “truck-like”, noise was loud, both road and engine.

I used to lend out my vehicles. Then someone borrowed my truck, let someone else drive it, then rode in the back and fell out when the driver took a turn too fast. Everyone was lucky that the injuries were minor.

Typically I will gladly help friend's move things, but there is a remarkably short list of people who I will actually let borrow it. Swapping me a C7 for the day, would definitely make that list grow by one.

Wow, maybe I am cautious person, but riding in the back of trucks didn’t seem like a good idea after  I was 11 or 12.

It was a normal thing to do back then and it’s probably still going on in the more rural parts of our country. I do have several stories about near-misses when riding in the back.

What went wrong in this case was where the guy was sitting. In the bed on the floor is the safest way to ride. He was sitting on the side of the bed with his feet on the floor. Since you’re basically balanced on the edge, t hat’s a quick way to fall out. And that was the lesson he learned that day.
