My Dad is a big fan of Volvo. And had a 70s 242 in highschool, that is basically the reason I exist. So I sent him this 242 on BaT. It’s already restored, it’s in North Carolina, where. My brother lives, plus it’s in Hendersonville, and our last name is Henderson.

He didn’t buy it. And I’m very disappointed. The worst part is that out of typical BaT fashion it sold for a VERY reasonable price. I kind of wish I’d bid on it.

Yeah, parents are pretty bad about that. Payback for us constantly rejecting their advice, I guess.

That auction looks like it’s still live. $1800 is borderline impulse/bad decision value too.

The 140 had double wishbone front and was an equal to the BMW 2002. If you get to watch any SCCA IT racing in the northeast, seing a 142e prepped to the limits run is really good. It’s fast and carves corners and runs away. The 242 went Mc.Pherson and lost a little bit. It also lost the B20e motor in favor of torque and efficiencey.....and gained weight. 142 is aweome. He missed out.

Like others have said, the auction closes tomorrow.  My wife may divorce me, but this seems like a great bad decision, I’ve added it to my watch list.

The past three times my parents have rejected my vehicular advice, it has resulted in two blown engines and an engine that needs lifted to replace the mounts I said needed replaced . Remember they are always wiser.
