Interesting that the Lincoln was developed from the Lancaster for WWII, didn’t make it to combat in that war, but was still produced in quantity for service in the Commonwealth nations anyway. Most of the time, we read of these late-comers getting their orders slashed or cancelled altogether before they can do anything of consequence. Yet, it seems the Lincoln saw service into the 50s.
Wikipedia says this was the only Lincoln produced in Canada.

Are we allowed to do pound signs? I feel like they are frowned upon here (I have no idea why) , but are very useful for sarcasm and it pains me to have to limit their use.

I do rather like that flat black underside with camo uppers.

Classic RAF. Useful for nighttime area bombing. See: tomorrow’s post about Dresden.

The Lincoln also served as a testbed after the war.
Here is one with a turboprop mounted in the nose.
And another with a Napier Nomad diesel engine in the nose.

We used hashtags in the pre-Kinja days. I use them satirically or ironically.
