My LG V30's battery couldn’t hold a charge anymore, so I’ve replaced it. Pic of me taking it apart:

Finally, I replaced the back cover with an ebay blue colored one (it was black originally)

Its quite tough to capture the blue but it looks infinitely better than the black!

On the downside, my fingerprint sensor has stopped working. Forums tell me that other people have had a similar issue, seems like the connector’s pin bend while putting ot bac together. Maybe I'll open it up again and replace the sensor....

Looking at your photo the pins for the fingerprint sensor are in the motherboard sid of things. It appears to be pads on the sensor side so replacing the sensor wouldn’t help you if bent pins are the issue.

If a 2fold problem.

The pins on the mobo may be bent but I know I pulled a bit too hard on the fingerprint sensor’s little microchip thingy and may have damaged it.

Not asking you to do research for me, but I don’t know where to start:

My work camera is an old Nexus phone and recently when I plug it in, it won’t charge and just smells like burning. Is this something I can likely  fix? I got a different phone to use instead but thought it wouldn’t hurt to practice messing with the Nexus since it’s written off anyway. I’ve always personally used Apple products so I’ve never taken any of mine apart.

If its just lying around, you could open it up and see if you can see anything obvious in there (battery looking toasty or bent for eg). I don’t know much about electronics so I’m not sure how one would diagnose the circuitry if you dont see anything in there.

I have this heat gun that I used to open up the adhesive:

I love those Nexuses, so I'm help any ways I can!
