In 1986, a BA Concorde flew from London to New Zealand and back. This podcast tells the story of the guy who chartered the flight.
Ken Irons, a local businessman from New Zealand’s Palmerston North - a town of which John Cleese once said “If you wish to kill yourself but lack the courage to, I think a visit to Palmerston North will do the trick.” - decided he wanted to see Halleys Comet from Concorde. Because he didn’t know it was impossible, he managed to make it happen.
