Usually I have a great story of how I rationally talked myself into swapping out my vehicles. This time I don’t. Purely emotional but it’s a REALLY fun drive

I would seriously consider one, but Mrs. BaconSandwich has said whatever I get needs to seat five. That rules out the i3 and the first gen Volt. :(

Too bad BMW stopped selling that version. A range extended EV is the best solution, since you don’t have any range anxiety issues :o)
I hope you get many enjoyable miles out of it

Very nice! I've always liked the look and size of the i3.

The Rex is available for the 2020 year model did they axe it past that?

oh cool I didn’t know that!
I thought they said on the FP that BMW was dropping it, but I’m glad to hear that’s not true

Excellent! I wish my missus liked the styling of these. Unfortunately they cost way too much downunder

Thanks! I couldn’t get them out of my head since the first time I drove one so I got one.

Yeah you had an influence on this purchase AND and influence on not going with Carvana.

Well, happy to be of service. I’m assuming, with the Mini in the garage, that you already have the Bimmercode app, and have read up on all the stuff you can fiddle with. Beyond the manual ReX and a little extra gas, I think my favorite things are coding the key fob to turn on A/C (very useful in TX summers), folding the mirrors (mine doesn’t have comfort access), and a few other small things that make it just a little bit nicer overall.
I still can’t think of anything I could afford that I’d rather have, right now.

It’s a 2017 so tank capacity is already unlocked but I did the range extender at my first stop on the way home. Will have to look up the A/C from key fob. Originally got BimmerCode because the MINI wouldn’t unlock all the doors when you turned off the ignition. Now we have a child that can open the door, wife doesn’t want it to do that.
Do you know what percentage tint you have? Also which interior? I specifically sought out the Giga World since I know my wife will eventually drive it when I’m not.

I did. I can’t really explain why but we got a second foster child and she has some behavior problems and didn’t trust her to not mess up something on it. So we took the mini everywhere. The cayenne is too expensive of a car to let sit in the garage only to drive a couple hundred miles a month. I also like to modify and everything was just a little too much to justify the mod.

Huh, didn’t know they’d unlocked the gas tank on the newer ones. I’ve also programmed a dash button to toggle the ReX, which is easier than fishing through a menu.
I didn’t do the tint on mine, so I don’t know offhand. I think the interior is the giga world, unless maybe it’s a mega world with the tech package? Either way, it’s the light grey on grey, larger center display, and the HK sound system. The seats get grubby really quickly, even water will leave stains. But they’re pretty easy to clean with some careful scrubbing. Thankfully this one has black floor carpet, rather than the white/cream my first one did.

It’s too bad you didn’t get to enjoy it fully! But I definitely understand. You have to have the right car at the right time that works for you.

No. I want my next vehicle to have a plug - either plug in hybrid or preferably fully electric.
