...from the Mr. Boston bar manual:
1.5 oz tequila
1.5 oz triplesec
1 oz lime juice
Not sure if it’s really that good. May need to make another to be sure.

Or quadruple the ingredients to confirm the positive results are scalable.

Logical thinking. Will you find my research proposal?

Find it and copy the experiment to verify the results: yes.
Fund it: no.

Well at least my preliminary data isn’t going to waste.

Picked them up at Garden Ridge 20 years ago.

I’ve been working on perfecting mine for a while. Here’s what I’ve settled on (usually split between 2 glasses):
3 oz tequilla (My preferred is Espoló n Blanco)
2 oz Grand Marnier (or Royale Orange from Total Wine if you want to save 5 bucks)
3.5 oz lime juice (I’m usually too lazy to squeeze my own so I use Santa Cruz organic lime juice)
4.5 oz simple syrup (I make my own “light brown” 2 cups water, 1 cup white sugar, 1 cup raw sugar)
Put it all in a shaker with ice then pour into glasses with one maybe two ice cubes.

I miss Garden Ridge. @Home or whatever it is called now is a step back. The couch in my living room is from Garden Ridge something like 10 years ago.

That sounds good. The Grand Marnier is fancy.

I miss it too. That place was a treasure trove.

I buy it at Costco - it’s always a few bucks cheaper there than anywhere else. It is still a little spendy but it makes a big difference in a margarita. Skimping on the orange liqueur really hurts it. If you can go with one that is at least 70 proof (vs. 48 proof DeKuyper). A less expensive alternative is Patron Citronge which is usually like $23 for a 75 0 mL . It’s a different taste than Grand - basically a higher proof triple sec - but still makes a darn good drink. I drink way too many margaritas. I can’t wait to get my butt back to Texas and head right to Pappasitos for a Reserva margarita and some cheese enchiladas. Hopefully I can make a vacation soon.

Will do. You’re in the DFW area right?

Right!

I’m not much of a tequila guy, but I’d try that with vodka.
You know those cocktail recipes on the back of the can? I’m doing one. Unfortunately my supply of rubies is a bit low. Mint leaves will have to suffice.

Give it a try. That’s how new drinks are born.
