The GM B-body (Which this Cadillac Fleetwood is built upon) is rated to tow up to 5000lbs 7000lbs in certain configurations with the tow package equipped . I’d absolutely love to be doing my Home Depot runs in the cushy-comfort that this sweet Caddy provides.

I had a 96 Fleetwood for years, the owners manual said 7000lb with the tow package (which mine had)

The Buick Roadmaster had a towing package option that bumped it to 5000lbs. Without they were rated to 3500lbs. The Buick is the same chassis but the Cadillac has a much shorter rear end gear and probably some other differences that limit it.

Yep, came here to mention this. The police package caprice wagons were also rated at 7k.

Those B-Bodies were amazingly capable for towing. I had a buddy who used his Impala SS to tow his race trailer and Auto-X car for years with it.
I’m not sure that CURT ever built a 2" Receiver tow hitch for it. My Roadie Wagon has the smaller receiver on it... I’m sure I can’t tow 5000-7000 # in that configuration.

I originally only did a quick search but I looked further and learned that the Caddy had the tow package option too. I knew the Roadmaster tow package and Caprice PPV had the higher ratings (I thought it was 5000lbs, not 7000lbs though). But yeah, they are great, comfortable tow vehicles.
One of my old Caprice PPV’s that was one of the cars that I learned to drive in:

I have considered a Buick Roadmaster as a tow vehicle for my RX-8 autocross car! Unfortunately it’s harder and harder to find them.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

7000lbs
Now I wish I had one of these when we had our boat so I could have laughed at the bro-truck dudes at the launch as I put our boat in.
It would look hilarious too.
Like this , but with a boat

They were great cars. GM gave a real gift to Ford by canceling them before Ford could announce the end of the Panther platform, because the GM cars were the better products.

That Caddy is still the most comfortable ride of any car I’ve ever had, and that includes three Panthers and one LX. Really like floating down the road on a soft cloud

I did put air suspension (which I’m generally opposed to) on the rear of the Roadie Wagon— but only recently did it occur to me to actually PULL something with it. previous owner left a light-duty hitch on it . I can’t tell that anybody ever did a decent 5000#-6000# 2" hitch though.
The guy I bought the car from did a “black it out” rattle can deal, which makes it look especially “vape-y”, but the black’s washing off nicely to reveal that nice turquoise color... Go figger

We had a nice towing package on our Olds wagon. Comfortable road tripping with the horse trailer behind.
