Ive walked through a few parking lots here, and I've realized most struggle to park their huge tanks... Some already gave up with life and simply head to the last floor of the parking lot and take up two spaces

I used to think that. SUVs allow me to tow and keep things inside of a vehicle so it can’t walk away.

Most minivans even have a higher tow rating than most CUVs.

I am looking at 6k+. 5k ratings and under struggle with anything enclosed and are a crapshoot on if you have to wire your own brakes trailer lines. (I'm looking at you highlerlander) now if we can get full conversion Van's back on dealer lots like an E350 with a luxury interior. That would be where my money is. I've lived with a Sprinter RV conversion and long wheelbase but the thing is huge.

These spots are 2 m wide. The roof in the lots is 1.9m

Your crewcab doesn’t fit in the places I describe no matter how great a driver you are.

But its kinda pointless to discuss because in America your crew cab is comfortable and makes sense.

Wow, those are tiny parking spaces. In Pinellas County, Florida, the standard parking space is 9.0 feet (2.74 M) wide and even a “compact” parking space is 8.0 feet (2.44 M) wide.

Of course a lot of our local pickup or big-SUV drivers can’t even get between the paint stripes on a 9 foot space. But that’s only because they are lazy and inconsiderate of others . When I was working in the field I used to have to park a “3/4 ton” pickup truck, which I never found very easy, but I’d go back and forth until I was centered in the space, unless I was in a completely empty parking lot.

Fiestas look humongous in these lots... Evidently these are for personal vehicles; work vans have their own place.

These are also lots from like the 70's when cars were smaller.

I grant the “smaller cars back then”, but only to a point, as even a non-Super Beetle would have given only 6" more maneuvering, an E30 Corolla less, and any number of other “compact” cars back then (let alone midsize) were as wide as a Fiesta. The first gen Falcon produced from the ‘60s all the way until ‘91 by the Argentines was wider, and the ‘80s Escort only smaller than the Fiesta by an inch.

A lot only suitable for use by a Suzuki Carry is not a very good lot.

You can still get conversion vans. Typically you need to find a dealer that sells not only cars and trucks but campers too.

A dealer near me has a few right now. They don’t have a 3500 currently, but the 2500 has a factory tow rating of 6700.

people who suck at parking are dumb. I’ve never had any trouble parking from my rav4 up to a 3/4 ton suburban. most people that suck at parking I find are luxury suv owners who just suck at driving.

Compared to CUVs like the Traverse, Explorer, Telluride, etc, they’re pretty much exactly the same size as a minivan. All are 79" wide, all are right around 200" long. The CUVs do tack on some extra height on minivans.

Minivans also have a 3500lb towing capacity, meanwhile most 3rd row CUVs start at 1500-2000 lbs unless optioned up.
