Want a new Alvis? Of course you do. They’ll make you, in return for a really quite substantial sum, one of these:

Has to be one of the most gorgeous cars available today, though “available” might be a matter of interpretation.
I love that it's still possible for cars like that to be built in places without our FMVSS

Alvis, I think, make use of all kinds of exemptions and loopholes to be able to make cars originally designed before WW2 and in the years after it.
The older ones are made from scratch using the original designs, the 19
50s and 60s ones are in some cases (bearing in mind they’ve only made about four) made from parts held in stock, including entire engines which have been treated to f
uel injection and engine man
agement systems so as to comply with emissions regulations. Prices begin
from £250,000, but “begin” is the key word. If
you want fancy modern things like power steering and air conditioning or one of those radio things
you’re paying more. If you want fancy old fashioned things like fitted luggage you’re paying more again.
