I’m checking this out later this morning. My gut says $2500 max. Crappy respray, looks like it was originally a white car. Engine bay looks unmolested though, so maybe other than that, it’s a decent car.

Seems CP. How much does a manual swap cost on this?

Probably more money and effort than I’d be willing to put in.

Very horrible. I can’t believe someone put in the time to pinstripe that, even if they are just stickers.

It’s an automatic convertible fox body... how much is the 5.0 worth? That, plus about $200, is
what this car is worth.

Fox body convertibles are known for body flex. Seen a trunk open on one going over rough railroad tracks. It was in great shape too. I think they were done by a third party too but I might be wrong on that.

Hard to see the clutch pedal in those pictures.

Considering the flop top, auto and horrible paint, I’d move on. You could find a really clean slushbox car for a good price, especially a convertible. Check on Corral and of course use Searchtempest to broaden your CL search if you aren’t already. I’ve also seen a ton on FB Marketplace.

Thanks, I think I’ve already moved on. This is definitely a CP loss.

these cars are going up in value, cleaned up with new paint this car would easily bring $ 8000. or more. check H agerty online valuation tool.

It doesn’t appear like it would need a ton of bodywork in the pictures (rust, etc). I’ve seen clean ones go for decent money on BaT, but this is also one with almost 200k on it, not a sub 100k example like the ones on BaT.

Now that I think about it, the matte finish respray makes me think there's more bondo there than meets the eye..

Just like with old German cars, buy the nicest one you can afford - you’ll pay for it sooner or later, get it over with. A proper paint job won’t be cheap, that one looks like I painted it.

Good call. So much easier to jack up too I bet.

I forget what year it was, but around ‘99/2000 I borrowed a friend’s GT convertible. I remember getting on a large stretch of road and giving it a bit of throttle and was surprised to see the back of the car twist in one direction in the rear view mirror whilst simultaneously the front twisted in the opposite direction. Having never owned a convertible (but having driven several) I was not prepared for that much flex in a vehicle.
