Even though it pretty much covers it.
So here’s what I wrote on Jalopnik
As a Moderator and someone who’s devoted WAY too much time to oppo I am incredibly saddened. I’ve made some wonderful lifelong virtual and real-life friends from oppo. Its taught me alot from forcing me to look into technical subjects, to forcing me to re-examine my beliefs in people. I’ve learned to be more tolerant, more patient and less volatile online. It’s easily been the most excellent place on the internet for some time.
I’ve had a few stories published from oppo to here and I was grateful for that opportunity. I’ve met at least one Jalop author in real life and it was a genuine pleasure and many others I am on friendly terms.
We aren’t likely to completely disappear, though the following transition is going to suck.
I also want to take a minute to pour one out for the many other Kinjaversis that spawned from that place.

There especially I’ve made some wonderful friends spanning the entire globe I wouldn’t have otherwise.
I understand that complaining here is like yelling at customer service, but I hope the management understands the scope of the decision they are making. This move IS going to hurt their properties and the awesome people employed therein. For that I am sorry.

One of the best bits of news I heard recently was that exit poll with half the people saying they didn’t know we had mods. All that work...
But seriously, there were good people making good decisions that kept the touch as light as possible...and it worked dammit.

It absolutely worked. And the mods were there on those occasions when they were needed.
