No pics, gonna try to keep down the sappy gushy feelings i have swirling around inside me. I will be switching over to the hyphen so the community isn’t gone. But it will never be the same. I’ve seen what happens to other online communities when they get wiped and it’s brutal. I just wanted to say here at the end that, without exaggerating, this has been the finest, best, most home like place I’ve ever found on the internet. The people I’ve met here since in person many online will forever be with me in my heart. I hope we don’t lose anyone but to those who choose another path i would say “fair thee well, it has truly been an honor”. I love you all. I love Oppo. Goodnight, I will see you on the other side.

Agree 100%. I think the new home is going to be great but it won’t be the same. I’ve seen migrations of communities before as well - back in the early 2000s I was very active on a big car photography forum that was forced to change hosting platforms and while it kept going and is even still there today some of the magic of the original was lost.
Had a hard time getting to sleep last night thinking about how many of us would be seeing this place in read-only mode in the AM. Of course for now we can still post and comment... which I guess isn’t surprising knowing Kinja. Even though I haven’t been posting much over the last couple years (got a new job where I can’t really sneak in Oppo at work anymore) I’ve still been checking in every day in the background. Just seeing some of the relationships that gr
ew here was heartwarming, the people here are great, and I enjoyed just being a small part of it. See you on the other side as well and let’s do what we can to keep it going - even if it is only a fraction as good as OG Oppo it will still be one of the best places on the web.
