Make no mistake, this announcement has zero impact on the timeline of the vaccine. Pfizer was not part of Operation WARP speed so took zero money/input from the trump administration and my guess is that they knew he’d falsely try to take credit for their work (and his administration is doing that right now ), why should they do him any favors?

There are good solutions in place already for this kind of thing, I don’t think it’ s a dealbreaker . They already have cold storage boxes that run on liquid nitrogen that can handle those temps for days.

All that’s needed is an insulated foam container loaded with dry ice.
That makes it a bit more expensive to ship, but isn’t not a show stopper.

Dry ice sublimates right above the temperature these need to be kept below according to what I’ve read.
