For me, no. Once there’s no Oppo, I’ve got no reason to come back.

It’s as good an excuse as any to migrate to the drive for my automotive news content. Oppo interactions have been what kept me here at jalopnik

I’ve gotten out of the habit of checking FP but I’ll try to occasionally catch up o n Torch and Tracy, plus the new Oppo hires.

Same with me. I found Oppo because of Jalopink, but I haven’t been visiting the FP with any sort of regularity for a while now.

I try to stay away from the FP but about 25% of time click the Jalopnik tab at the top just to see what is there. Once I delete the Oppo bookmark, though, Jalopnik tab goes away. Only way I would get there then is if I am searching for something specific and the google sends me there.

Yes, I will still visit. While it might not be as often as I want to, I still have folks that I want to support and there is still some content worth checking in on from time to time.

Not really, no. Ever since the last dust- up, and the continuing redesigns which seem to make the experience worse each go-around, I have no desire to visit any of the other Gawkmodo sites. I’m here only for you guys and gals, so there’s no point after nex t Monday.

I have not been able to comment on Jalopnik or The Takeout (the only blogs where I am followed) for over a year now. In fact, whenever I try to star a comment, it removes a star. I’ve tried everything that several people can think of, and no bueno. So, I already don’t go there except when I am truly avoiding work.

Maybe? It seems like they’ve been slowly gutting things for a while now. My engagement level has dropped partly because I don’t find much content for me anymore . Honestly, t here really never was much in the first place. I don’t really fit most car culture.

Haven’t even been able to get FP to load on my phone much less was actually able to read anything in what feels like two years? Sad to say probably not. I will likely keep checking Jez on occasion.
I will make an effort to give Ms. Mercedes some clicks when I can, though.

Part of me wants to check out what Miss Mercedes and LJ909 are up to, I hope they have success (and get promoted to another website fast lol).
But once Oppo is dark, I probably won’t return to any GMG sites. Oppo is the only reason I’m here.

Outside of the whole “prior work buds” thing, Jalopnik’s crew has been probably the most supportive of making sure Oppo lands on its feet, so yeah.

Probably not. I hardly visit jelopnic these days at all, the quality of content went down the drain a while ago and it’s gotten pretty heavy-handed with pushing the owners agendas over the actual content of the site. Now and then I’ll read something (usually torch) that comes across my radar elsewhere on the web but I sure don’t keep up to date with it like I used to.

I'll stop in but not religiously. I enjoy seeing what DT and Torch are up to, and I have in interest in following the shenanigans of our two newly promote Oppo, but it probably won't be an everyday thing for me.

No, once this site goes then Kinja sites get the boot from the bookmarks. I’m already down to a once or twice a day headline scroll through /latest (to hell with that home layout) on my laptop. Articles have been unreadable on my phone, I don’t know how people suffer without an ad blocker on any device .
Now
there’s consistent politics and societal remarks in articles
that spawn vitriol depths,
sometimes accelerated
by the authors themselves. The cross-posting
has caused many
supportive
“
low meta” and or
dickheads
to become ungrayed

by
lack of sarcasm or irony detection due to ignorance
is staggering at present.

In the Gawker days, I would read every article, every day on Jalopnik, and then head over to Oppo for more content.
Then Jalopnik became impossible to read because of intrusive ads , the Detroit coverage by Aaron Foley stopped, the quality of the content went down, and now I go a week with looking at the headlines.
What a shame.

Hate to be so flippant about it, but its the bitter truth. Jalopnik has changed a lot so t here’ s not much...how should I put it... character bringing me to check it out. I like a couple of the writers whose names I still recognize over there, but I r eally only find myself heading over if an article gets linked here on oppo.
I’ll do my best to check in every now and then to support some of our recent oppo hires, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I eventually forget G/O media exists.
