Funny story— I lived in the Annapolis area for a few years, doing for a agency. The neighborhood was about 50 years old, private driveways, private roads... back in the trees.

Except there was one “lot” off the grid in one corner, with a concealed entrance and no house number. Checked Google Earth... there’s a big house in the center of the parcel... a little hard to see what the access is. Go look at the Anne Arundel County parcel records, back-trace to the physical address and SEARCH it. Sure as hell that was the house Agnew built and moved into right after he resigned and had his legal tussles.

He apparently lived a pretty good life post-resignation. Tennis club membership, religious about daily tennis games with business partners, a few minutes at his “office” a few times a week, fine dining in Annapolis and DC. Travel, food, tennis, living the good life.

Bush Jr IMO doesn’t seem like an awful person. Maybe a born on third base entitled dork, but not evil, and I don’t know if he really wanted his job to begin with . Probably more fun to have a beer with than many of his rank. But his VP and some of his appointees, glorified war criminals who in different times and places would have been at the end of a rope.

The Palin choice handed it to Obama, in my eyes anyway. Obama is a compelling figure especially for many who are younger than boomers/xoomers, which was also a big deal , but the Palin idiocy sealed it.

Romney/Ryan was a dubious choice too, especially the later, a sorely entitled dbag with a lifetime of failing upwards.

I guess for the current mess, I blame the “leader” (sarcastic quotes, this man wouldn’t be able to manage an etsy shop if he wasn’t born rich) for the shit we’re slogging through today.

Dubya’s shit seems to have been brought on by his running mate and staff/appointees - maybe I see Dubya as not being able to mastermind such evil to begin with.

Also, I believe the economy today, with issues as deep and worse than 2008, would be better if there was a more capable federal pandemic response.
