I see all this talk of Oppo’s death! When? Why? What happened? I am confused and sad. I may not post much, however, I did get published in a magazine from traffic directly related to this incredible place. I’ve been here for so long I don’t remember when. I am not ok. This was social media in the best form. It was family in the best form.
Also, can we do this?

From what I’ve read, the lawyers at G/O Media don’t like the kind of liability that comes with having things posted on UGC Kinja feeds, so they’re going to raze it from the website.

Oppo was easy enough where anyone who wanted to could scroll through posts, or generate their own posts, and everyone (thank you mods) for the most part remained civil.

Long and short of it is the G/O legal Department decided to kill ALL user blogs to prevent them having any liability on anything. Several Oppos are working together on an Oppo v2.0 replacement somewhere, Jalopnik staff and the Oppo mods are working together to help and see if there is a way they can save data.
Check the ‘Life Rafts’ post to join one of the various interim ‘life rafts’ to hang out at until we figure out a more permanent solution...Discord is very active and a lot of folks moved over to the DriveTribe as well!
