I’m seriously going to miss this place. Like a lot. I know there’s DriveTribe and Discord, and Mastadon, but they won’t be the same. This week has been hard.
Earlier this week I got a call that my uncle unexpectedly passed away. His wife (my aunt) passed away a year or two back from dementia. Earlier this year, just before the pandemic hit he was able to go on a trip to Tahiti with his daughter and son-in law. He had served a mission there for our church, and had only been back one other time. It seems like he really enjoyed his trip.
He didn’t show up for work two days in a row
so they called my cousin, who found him. It sounds like he went in his sleep, which is probably the best way to go.
I won’t forget the time, back when I was in university that he randomly called me up to go flying with him. He had is pilot’s license, and rented a plane for an hour or so.
I might even say I’m going to miss this place even more.

I’m angry about Oppo’s possible demise, but a bunch of us nuts are trying to do something about it and figure out one solid place to land instead of the 42 different options that always get thrown out when there’s an existential threat to user Kinjas. Stay tuned for sure, and if all else fails, stay in touch.
