So the news I’m watching just showed the stage at Biden HQ. It seems instead of chairs for the audience , he has Jeeps (good for distancing I guess?). My attempt to grab a screenshot failed, but here’s a pic from earlier today (though there are many more Jeeps than seen here):

Kinja'd!!!

Some serious product placement going on there.

Weirdly off brand for FCA vehicles not to contain trump voters.

I noticed the same thing. I guess it’s quite fitting considering US politics is a just a pure marketing exercise at this point.

At least it would be honest then. Trump 2020, sponsored by Russia . Even better than allowing it, would be to require major donors to be listed in every advertisement. Pipe dream to ever ban money in politics so we might as well work with it for some transparency on both sides.

We drove my wife’s Subaru to vote for Biden (typical) but the Jeep was proudly requiring some extra attention in the garage at that time ... also typical.

That was my assumption as well, though it still felt doubly odd to have his stage look out on a parking lot, and then to say “hey that parking lot is all Jeeps”.

PACs need to be banned, for sure. Show the money trail, then we can see what the Kochs and DeVos and similar inheritance elite undertaxed trash of the world are really up to.

Putin is smiling right now, as 45's worthless shitbag son calls for “war”. Better people (which would be almost anyone) have been punished harshly for less.

I can sympathize why one might have voted for this cowardly gongshow in 2016, but I will again question either the intelligence, motivations, or both of anyone who supports it a second time.

And for so much of it, the origins of the money are a mystery.  This is the real danger to the system, other than a corrupt incompetent president spreading baseless conspiracy theories, and cowardly party members standing by.

It is surprising to me how damn close it is. I hope at least somehow a victory in AZ, NV, PA, and GA would go along with the high popular vote lead to restore some of my faith in this country. There's always gonna be the 30-40% of total nut jobs out there. But the fact that trump actually has MORE supporters now than 2016 is crazy. I don't want anything to do with either party but at least Biden seems to have a clear plan and seems like a reasonable dude with some interest in this country. I thought Republicans were supposed to be patriots as that is my number one value. But man getting behind trump is rather unpatriotic.

I’m happy to see some states progressing, no doubt helped by demographics, but yeah, that tens of millions can still support this shitshow just boggles the mind. Maybe more nutjobs were encouraged to vote.

Biden and the Ds are nothing to love, just a lesser evil. I don’t see a plan for progress with them, but this isn’t a time to seek perfection. Compared to the current regime, it doesn’t take much to reach lesser evil status. I can’t think of any positive American quality exhibited by 45 nor any of his family.

Now we’re hearing the same phrase uttered by another collapsing regime just over 75 years ago (and this even from a usually sympathetic source):

The way he practically fellates Putin & other dictators is about as un-American as it gets. Quite a change for the party of Reagan to have as their head a man*   with such unabashed, treasonous love for a Russian leader .

only about 40% of the country actually votes. The other 60% are split between ineligible citizens (younger than 18, incarcerated, etc.) or unwilling to lift a finger in either direction. Think about that. Trump’s base (and Biden’s for that matter) are hovering between 18-21% at any given moment.

Biden seems to have a clear plan

He does? Please articulate it, then. “Doing stuff we were doing already”, isn’t a plan. “Heal the nation” isn’t a plan. Nobody has any idea what the Biden agenda is, including Joe.  He got elected on the strength of not being Trump-- it’s not clear that’s enough.

But the fact that trump actually has MORE supporters now than 2016 is crazy.

Why? You should listen to Michael Moore’s take on this. Because, in the heartland, for the first time in at least 40 years, they THINK somebody finally listened to their plight. Trump’s picked up support because he actually had the audacity to do what he said he’d do. That’s actually astonishing and about 49% of the country “gets” that. They hear Biden talk about empty promises and amorphous BS and think “Oh, boy, we’re back to career politicians making vacuous claims about stuff they clearly don’t understand...”.  Trump lost, but Trumpism will clearly re-shape politics in coming years.

The one inspiring thing about Biden, I guess, is that a low-intellect guy, who resided at the bottom of every competitive academic group he ever “competed” within... has risen to the top job in the nation.  Seriously, this guy was in the bottom 10% in high school, college, law school.  Even Obama used to roll his eyes at how out of it Biden was.  All we can do is pray I guess.

Biden and the Ds are nothing to love, just a lesser evil. I don’t see a plan

That’s the problem. They have no plan, other than “not being Trump”. It’s far from enough.

Who knows? Maybe Biden and Harris will double the size of the Morgan-Stanley and Goldman-Sachs executive bonus pools for fucking America’s workers— that’s what passed for “victory and hope and change” last time. Sadly, t hat’s about all we can expect from “The Senior Senator From The State of MBNA...”... Turning the nation’s future back over to the banksters that threw billions at this election cycle .

Still better than the alternative. I don’t have the years under my belt of some here, but I know there’ s no such thing as a even close to perfect candidate. Just a lesser evil. Everyone has a skeleton in a closet and policy faults. But some are worse than others.

Funny there’d be economic-related criticism from the side who embraces the party of persistent trickle down lies and bootstrap fantasy, while at the same time American economic mobility has withered and the wealth gap will eventually reach unsustainable levels.   The same group who has completely botched handling of the pandemic, who has failed to reform healthcare, and who can’t even create a tax policy that actually creates the desired results.  Just as I can’t grasp why those who bitch about the funny term coastal elites elected a conman reality host and inheritance elite real estate speculator from Manhattan (who wouldn’t be able to run a yard sale without family largesse) , and how the religious types out there can embrace a serial adulterer and pathological liar who virtually embodies the seven deadly sins. Cognitive dissonance, mental gymnastics.

I’ll take another bland corporatist over a nazi-dogwhistling wannabe strongman who is really an overgrown kidult with the thin skin of a baby. Stand back, stand by! Good people on both sides! I’m sick and tired of winning!

W hat gets me most about both unlovable choices this year is that they will both be octogenarians or close when the next term is up. A fun thought: Clinton was elected 28 years ago, and he’s younger than both candidates. It’ll be something when a candidate can maybe personally relate to the more expensive and competitive world that has existed since the luckiest generation were cutting their teeth. Can you imagine a sub-50 year old president now?

Some hilarious roasts of this corrupt shitshow , who either need to be consigned to the dustbin of history, or sent to a modern day version of an event that happened in a pretty city in Franconia 75 years ago:

Anything is better than what trumpism represents. At this point I could care less who is in the office. How trump is handling the defeat right now is 100% of the reason to never put him in the office in the first place. The way he acts like a baby no matter what is the problem. Sure, I agree Biden doesnt make his plan clear and its why I dont like Democrats. But the GOP is pure evil. Ideally, the GOP would be dissolved completely and then the Democrat party would be split in two with a progressive leaning party and the other can be centrist. We do not need a far right regressive party. Might as well lump them in the with Nazi or Communist party and make them relics of the past.
