Dash update or DA Shupdate.
I’ve got 77 of these to do. Mostly Fords, which is good. No matter what truck brand you’re baptized in, Fords, especially super duties are the most user friendly inside the dashboard. (easy access, lots of hiding spots). 2020 escapes can go fuck themselves though. They’ve only got one, a plug in hybrid to keep up appearances. E veryone else on the Government research farm is a cowboy in an F 250.
This is my new favourite, I used to cut the handles off baby bottle brushes and put them in the cordless. I had been meaning to invent this. Fell in love and went back to buy a second set at the princess auto and they were gone fore ver.
I splurged and bought myself some new floormats that match my GMC mudflaps. (one is on crooked so no pictures today) I’d never cover a truck in Chevy bowties or D odge goats but I feel this is Okay if its a GMC, thoughts?

I remember the Navy having black K-car wagons as staff cars. Only black K-cars I can remember. (my dad moved us to Saskatchewan with the Navy of all things. But Sask is 100% free of Russian Submarines to this day, good job dad!)

I was at a car swap/show in the beginning of Oct. Most of the attendees are geezers with small block intake plenum s and 19 68 El Camino tailgates, but some setups are more elaborate. Whole carnival tents filled with parts brought in a semi truck. They have a cleaning aisle with simple, but effective, brushes like the set you have there.
That was the first time I have ever saw those drill mounted brushes and I had to have them. Love them as well .
They are not gone forever.

Neighbour picked up a five year old Lexus NX(something).
Lexus ‘cleaned and dressed’ the car for picking up. I had a look at it today, they didn’t do a great job, but horrifically, they used tyre dressing to dress the rubber floor mats, even the drivers mat.
So much dressing there was small pools of it in the corners of a couple of them.
Guess what I’ll be doing next week. Lol.

I used to detail at the dealership, did, horrible, horrible things like hose the entire interior with coconut/barf scented dressing then blow it in under all the buttons with the air hose, then send it to the mechanical side because said buttons no longer work. rinse/repeat.

GPS remove and install new, 4 per hour. (can’t be done if you have to talk to teenagers on the phone for every single one.)

Lol.
I was a ‘sponge monkey’ when I first left school.
This is what a dealer thought was acceptable for a customer to drive away with.
Dirty steering binnacle and dash, polish residue, clumps of it, around the car. I mean, did they paint the stuff on and wipe off or what.

I texted my mother the other day to confirm she was a Canadian citizen (she is.) looking less likely like I’ll have to implement project anchor mom, but Canada has been looking better and better these past few years.
Took a picture last night after a therapeutic drive. Could it be a sign?

Godspeed, hopefully it sticks better than some of the stickers to our trucks.
If you’re removing, hopefully they come off just as easily.

You’d have had a stroke at the “detail” they gave my 124 before delivery. T he interior was cleanish (except the inside of all the glass was filthy) , but on the outside it must have been a record-setting speed wash, filthy in all the gaps/jambs/etc (it had been on a lot in Oregon for a year), tire shine overspray all over the fenders, etc.
The first thing I did to that poor car the day after I got it was a wash and wax. It still needs a quick paint correction (or a good clay, haven’t tried yet) but it’s much, much better.

The last three new cars, the dealership have been told, do the bare minimum to PDI the car, but otherwise don’t touch it.
And as soon as I’d got the car home, I washed and sealed the car.
The dealership know me as, ‘the guy who won’t let us clean his car’.
I'd rather places do the job properly or not at all.

Yeah, when I took it back in to PDR a door ding they also overlooked on the PDI (no charge to me but I had to schedule for it) I told them not to wash it and hung a sign on the mirror “do not wash or detail”
