!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . With 96k kilometres on it for under $17k CAD, is it worth getting a Bullitt if it’s not green?

As someone who has consistently gotten the color they didn’t want...
I still say try to find the good color.

I’ve always viewed color as secondary, with some exceptions. The exceptions being “I can’t fucking stand that color.”
I would definitely drive a black mustang Bullitt. The green is nice/nicer, the black is totally acceptable and though my mustang knowledge isn’t great, the Bullitt had some cool mechanical changes done to it right? That’s the important part.

Sure. I'll never own a black car but I keep ending up with black cars.

I wouldn’t. Mainly because I’m not a huge fan of those Bullits. They are basically an appearance package and not all that special. All the goodies on them can be had in the aftermarket.

Yes. Do it.
I’d say black is the right colour. Dressing up a car to look like another car from a movie that came out 40 years prior is some real boomer shit.
I’d go personally choose not to have a green one.

1. How much does the black hurt resale vs. how much do you get to save because it’s black.
2. I didn’t even know they made those in anything but the green.
3. Who the fuck would order one th at’s not green???? I must meet this person to study their brain.

1. Saving it looks like $6k CAD compared to other ones.
2. Yeah, it was an odd move.
3. Right?

Plus, more money in the bank for mods and a house?

I’m not much of a mod person and I’m going somewhere undesirable in Saskatchewan so housing isn’t the biggest concern.
I dunno man, why do people do exterior mods and graphics if they don’t see them while driving? I just think the green is cooler. Call it irrational.

Really depends on the build and the sentimental value you place on a certain colour. Oh, and if it’s a NP.
I’ve gone both ways and, all other things constant, colour is just
a wash to me now.

Let’s just say the colour has been half the reason I’ve been keeping an eye out for a Bullitt for the last twelve years.

They did. I was selling Fords when they came out. It is an improved filter and tune. Revised springs and shocks.
Nothing crazy. They had about 15-25 hp over a standard GT if I recall correctly. I believe it was the same motor package they stuffed in the Hertz rental cars that were available at the time.

I know it’s pretty low miles but I think it’s a bit dear, especially black.
I dunno, unless it’s a hop up (Shelby, Cobra, Saleen, Roush) I have a hard time believing any of the more base Mustangs between 10-15yo should be over $10k even with a V8.

I live in the days past where a trip through Autotrader yielded foxbody and new edges that were cheap as chips.
Like the retro ‘bird prices floored me a few weeks ago. I was bamboozled because I distinctly remember reading R&T back 15 years ago and it was not considered a good car even then.

To the headline, yes. To the body, no.
I bought a red 128i because it was only the second non-black slicktop example I saw in a year of looking. I still haven’t seen an Alpine white one in Ontario in the 2 years since so no regrets. I still have the search saved on Autotrader and Kijiji though so if a decent white one appears I’ll likely still buy it.

I think my Miata is the wrong color for sure. But it was the right car considering the price and that its crash free. Sure its not problem free but its a lot harder to fix crash/rust shit than it is to deal with engine problems. Color doesnt really matter though. I thought I would HATE silver but with the right color accents its grown on me when there’s the right lighting.
I didnt think I would like white on my subaru either. Gotta be WRB or it aint a proper Subie! But I absolutely love this color now and quite prefer it over any others available that year. Who would have known that “white” refers to many different colors and Aspen White definitely aint the same as whatever the hell honda uses or typical rental/base model truck white.

Its definitely the most noticed thing about the car by non-car people as well. I have been asked about a dozen times about the “aftermarket rims on the Subie”. Meanwhile they are the factory BBS. I wish they werent curbed to hell but they look great in photos and from more than 5 feet away. At least it means I dont give a shit about curbing them further myself. If I ever feel like running a summer set of tires, I would have to get the second set of wheels in the same color. I can’t imagine anything else working better on this car.

When I was test driving cars back in winter/spring, I fell in love with the XE R-Sport. I tested a white one first, which made me love everything except the exterior. So I waited for one in BR Green. When one finally popped up, it had lower miles and a slightly lower price. So for me it was worth it.
On the other hand, when I was C5 shopping a few years ago, I wanted green or red. But the deal on the black one was too good, so I went for it. Wasn’t worth holding off hoping to find a similar deal in a more desirable color.

I guess the valid questions are:
How much cheaper is this than one in green?
How much would it be to paint this one green at a later time?
Would it be worthwhile to purchase this one, and drive it while saving money to paint it green?
If you purchase and paint it green, would that potential loss from not being the original color be a problem? (or would it make the car more likely to sell at a higher price because it’s now the correct color?)
I guess I’d be as likely to buy this one if the price is good, and I could then save up the money while I was enjoying the car then get it painted/wrapped the color I wanted. But I’ve never had the luxury of holding out for the color I really want when car purchasing. It’s always been the internals that I’ve just not compromised on. I hold little hope that any car I ever own will become some collector’s item where the value will increase.

I did exactly this with my Autozam. I wanted the blue one with every fiber of my being. They regularly went for 30% more at auction than the red ones. So I bit the bullet and bought a red one. Eventually I will re-paint it.

Hey! Thank you I appreciate that. I know I haven’t been very active I’ve been completely swamped with coursework and have been having insomnia and mental health issues. This last semester has been a lot.
I signed up for the discord and am on Brian the life of’s list. I think there
might be
more lists I could sign up for but it’s hard to keep track honestly. What ones are you signed up to? I’m sad that the site is getting shut down, I’m hoping we can transition to something similar. This place has been cool and good to me.

For sure, it's been a lot for everybody but especially people with mental health issues, my wife has certainly struggled a lot this year also and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't getting to me too. I signed up for pretty much everything but am waiting to see what happens, wherever we go I'll be there though. So far I've been most interested in the new site jminer and others are building as opposed to drivetribe and the others, but we'll see what happens.
