is it just me, or does this look like the end of a movie car chase? obviously the driver was shot through the windshield, the car came to a slow stop here sideways on the curb, and they just took three pics and put for sale?

I’ve never been much for classic cars, but this would be great to buy for my daughter who will be driving in 2 years. We could restore it together etc etc etc... nah, just leave it flat black and broken window, let her drive it to high school and intimidate!

also a fan of this baller on a budget. flat black paint to black out the emblems, tint the tails, and remove the two tone bumpers. lowered, cool wheels;  all while still driving a car that’s going to get to 500,000 miles

I like how thoughtful they were.  They only had 1 wheel chock, so they used the curb as a second.  Which makes me wonder if it has a transmission (or maybe it’s a manual?)

I checked the forabodies thread, but unfortunately it didn’t reveal anything extra about how the windshield smash happened. Interestingly, the thread now reads “sold” and the guy who got it has apparently been trying to get his hands on it for a while.

There was an older man that came into the place I worked in 1996 that has a 67 Impala basically along these lines. He was the original owner and was constantly adding things to make it more visible. He had multiple magnetic trailer brake lights on the trunk lid, reflective tape strips on every side of the car, and he had added what looked like a continental kit bumper that stuck off the back of the car over a foot that didn’t have a tire on it. There may have been more, but that’s what my aged brain can recall.

it’s listed as an automatic, but rarely is CL accurate.
could be a column shifter, and thus confusing the owner?

but certainly nothing says functional car like wheel chocks to stop it rolling away

yeah, odd that he added the link as more info, but it was the same info
I went there expecting more pics at the very least

Yeah, when I see wheel chocks, my mind immediately thinks “roller”.

I could accept a manual trans car with a weak/non-op parking brake, though.

In the town I grew up, there was a similar old man. He drove a green 1966 Imperial. The bumpers were painted flo rescent or an ge, with an old tire tied to each with heavy rope. On each side, f rom j ust behind the front door to the rear bump er, were sheets of galvanized roofing painted in florescent green, installed over the factory sheet metal. The was lots of reflective tape too. The interior looked to have custom sewn seat covers made from old drop cloths.......

Ah yes, an Acura TL with Stow N Go and power sliding doors. It even has the off road package and apparently has a good memory for songs!

And I’ve never heard of power steering lines being a major failure point. Or a point at all really.

They go through all that trouble of making up a fake car around keywords and give it a broken door handle and broken climate control?

It sure makes for an amusing chimera of a car. Perhaps that could describe a heavily modified Mitsubishi Delica?

When I was in high school, my dad’s windshield got hit by a golf ball when he was driving past the golf course. The hole it made it was very similar to that hole in the windshield, except the ball actually hit the windshield wiper and gave it a neat U shape.
