“Rights of assembly” lol, these brave warriors for liberty and justice, I mean entitled choads who are ensuring the US slowly but surely loses first world status.

Even in Sweden, the shining beacon for the contrarian asshole during pandemic,   this probably wouldn’t be allowed.

You have to click the big blue comments box at the bottom. Don’t do it.

After all the crap of a Scottish MP, having test, then going to go about her day to day stuff, even making a point of visiting places and people, got on a train to London, to speak in parliament, she got the test results to say she was positive, made the excuse to other MPs she had to go home for an family matter, continued home to Scotland on the train, etc... This was in the news up and down the U.K.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-54496759

Now barr ing that all in mind, a colleague’s partner had covid symptoms, him and my colleague went to get tests, it even states to isolate until you get a result, a negative result.

Well my work place phoned her knowing she had been tested and asked her to go in and stupidly she did. Now that’s stupid on both parts, they shouldn’t of asked her knowing she was in isolation pending results and she shouldn’t of said yes.

So she went into work, did her shift she was asked to do, went home and got the results, both her and her partner are Covid positive.

How do people not under-fu**ing-stand this by now!?

It’s in black and white, it’s verbally said to you at the test and it’s on the TV all the time.

We had police officers come into our store doing spot checks and handed out 16 fines to customers who decided to take their masks off once they got into the store.

All this bullshit is dragging on because people just  can’t stop being morons. I’ve given up on Wal-Mart because they don’t give AF about who enters without a mask.

I work for the U.K. arm of the same company. We have two safety marshals walking the store, have someone on the front door counting people going in and out, free masks, sanitiser and paper towels and disinfectant for wiping the trolley handles, etc... yet people come in and lower the mask below the nose, take it off thinking they’ll be left alone, etc...

Even colleagues are doing this crap, we’ ve got at least five off with Covid, three managers and two colleagues who are in a relationship (a boyfriend/girlfriend couple and a husband/wife couple ).

OTOH, the Swedish economy is sailing through this, their suicide rates did NOT jump and they have not seen much of a second wave— simply because they took sensible precautions early on.

Meanwhile? My friends in Italy, France and the UK— who all dutifully “followed the science” and shut down completely for March-April-May-June?They are utterly buggered. New rates are eclipsing those silly ‘Cuomo-esque flatten the curve’ BS admonitions from April... and they are screwed through to 2021.

You really think Sweden did it worse? Because I don’t.

I live in an area where one of the cities shut down a handful of small businesses because customers wouldn’t keep their masks on. A t the same time, people who were held in favor by some of the local officials could skip the masks and the real problem was all the people who complained . Because, you know, political pandering and the old boy network both make you immune.

I bet her idea of mask wearing was more like a beard net too. I don't understand how you could have that little regard for others to do such a thing.

Well, Spain was putting kids on house arrest for months , and they’re still getting a second wave. I think we might be dragging it out by hunkering down waiting for a vaccine.

Sailing through it? They’ve had a marked downturn, too. Of course, they don’t go for the same trickle down bullshit this country loves, so those impacted are probably better off. But that can be said for many places, as most have done more for pandemic relief relative to GDP than the US, who was more concerned about getting a politically charged SC on the throne.

Not finding any credible suicide data.

And Germany still kicks Sweden’s ass on virtually all counts while being more restrictive, weird. Other Scandinavian nations are also not exactly failing, while not experimenting with lives. My friends in Germany,   Canada, and Switzerland are laughing their heads off at how the US is handling things, as well as not exactly being envious of Sweden.

Oof:

https://time.com/5899432/sweden-coronovirus-disaster/

A good op-ed. Yeah, so much winning:

https://www.medpagetoday.com/infectiousdisease/covid19/89017

Just like the US the past few years.

I also now live next door to Idaho, not one of the more progressive first worldy parts of the world, where things are now going to shit and they are apparently sending people to WA:

https://www.krem.com/article/news/health/coronavirus/where-hospital-capacity-stands-kootenai-health/293-ca0af574-7a10-4e20-b38c-63d997dfbc37

I’d have thought/hope luckiest generation people would want to be more protective of the old/weak, as we’ll all be there sometime, some sooner than others.

Sweden and those cherry picked others are almost apples to oranges. Is it not that Sweden did it worse, maybe should it be a claim that Sweden did it better? Given the demographic and socio-economic conditions of those other nations, I am not sure they could follow the plan of Sweden to begin with, so I can’t agree.

There’s no way around it: they are idiots. All of them.

Keep in mind, the state of Utah also has no motorcycle helmet law. I guess there’s no point in protecting a brain that isn’t there to start with ?

All of the states as far as I know let me drive my old cars with no seatbelts so not much different.

Except you haven’t been able to buy new a  car without seatbelts for how many years? 40? Maybe 50 years in some places?

Sure my point is both things only hurt you and possibly stress hospitals in a time of emergency. My newest seatbelt less car is a 64 so so totally feasible to drive 80mph on a highway. I used to have a 70 el camino and that came with belts standard I believe.  N o clue when the cutoff is but I would imagine there are more cars on the road with no seatbelts at any given time in California than motorcycles without helmets in Utah and all the other states that allow it combined. The majority of local idiots wear them even though it's not mandatory.
