It was a beautiful November 1st up here in Lotus Land and I thought that a rip in the Roadster would ease me into the impending early evenings of winter quite nicely.
The light was very tricky, so it was tough to find good spots without long shadows. Without a light reflector it was hard to get a good low contrast shot. I only brought along my 50mm, which made me miss my 18-70 this time.
When I came back home to look at my shots, I couldn’t believe how noisy they were. They look like shit, frankly. I checked the file info and found that I had my ISO set at 3200. Well there’s the problem right there. I must have been doing some night shots the last time I used the D90...doh.
So there ya go. Big lesson learnt today. Check your settings. I have a bad enough time with composition, I don’t need bad settings to make my shots worse still...lol
But hey, I got to get out in the Roadster in November...can’t remember if I ever have before (Thanks global warming!) so all in all it was a great day.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have big decisions to make....

Should post more Datsun content ! Seeing that lower shot, might be white whale I’ve been trying to figure out. Up the street from work there’s an office park and a fess was Glimpses of little roadster. Could never figure out what it was.

That’s a 70. Don’t know if I’ve ever seen a white/cream combo like that in any roadster community shots.

Well it’s in Marin, I’ve seen it before. My friend’s dad has two, one was his first car that he still has. He goes to the big meetings like Solvang.

I’ve gone through three bottles of the Seaside. It’s very good. The Kazuki is their take on Nikka, same sansho pepper undertone. All three of them are really good...but I drink gin neat like whiskey.

I’m not a gin drinker but this one interests me. I’d drink it neat like you.
A friend of mine says the sea is strong in this one.
Would you agree? Complex?

I find with gin, its quality is much more subjective than, say, scotch. It comes down to preference. I love big floral gins, like Tanq10, for what they are and I also love drier, less junipery gins that have more herbal notes like seaside and Nikka. If you can get your hands on anything from Granville Island Distillers, you won’t be disappoint.
