That boils my pi**, when that happens, but maybe not as much as when literally one or two sheets are left on the roll. Grrrr....

In TP holder related rants:

My house is old and every bathroom has one one those awful, built-in recessed TP holders. You can’t flush out the wall because they’re all in wet-set tile, so you need a jackhammer and will probably destroy every tile to make it even. Does anyone make a conversion kit so I can get a reasonable TP holder ?! NO! So I’m stuck not being able to fit modern TP rolls in there for like the first dozen pulls.

See also: stupid recessed soap dishes in my shower and above the vanity. Why is there no conversion plate?!? I’m going to have to devise one.

What’s worse is about 8 squares left. Looks like you have what you need, then a 90 degree rotation reveals and impending predicament.

my wife will fairly regularly do that, bless her heart - long ago I just decided to make sure I maintain a spare roll in both baths rather than make it one more thing to argue about...

Happens at work ALL the time. I genuinely think some people don’t understand how the spring filled bar works. And the other people are just lazy.

This is why I try to keep a stockpile in each bathroom. If there are 8 rolls close at hand. Also, I usually keep at least 2 rolls going at once because you have to use about 25-30% before it’ll fit on the holder..

I’m dealing with the same problem. Ugly, gold, recessed TP holders that don’t work with modern super-ultra-mega-jumbo rolls.   Sadly lots of the fixtures in this house are ugly and gold. Eventually I’ll have the time/money to get them all replaced.

this one the bar swings up, slide one off, the next on, and swing back down to the other support knob

It's not a silver bullet but it does the job at our house if we buy the right sized rolls.
