For the dozen or so of you* that guessed the McMower was going to be Martini livery, you guessed correct. My mower is Martini livery.

Bare Chassis

LF suspension and spindle installed.

Five-position ride height adjustment

LR suspension installed.

Rolling chassis complete

I have chosen the soft tire for the 2017 season.

Rear chute door and skirt installed

Dry fit of power unit.

Installation of power unit.

Engine cover fitted.

I haven’t mowed a lawn since I was a kid and my dad sent me outside to mow the lawn. My little 12 year old self HATED that infernal Lawn Boy that was older than I was, impossible to pull-start with my scrawny little arms and had the stupid bag that never wanted to hook up to the mower without a bunch of fiddling with the stupid latch that didn’t work right. There was much rejoicing in my house when he finally bought a new damn mower. I still hated mowing the lawn though.

I’m sure there have been many advances in lawnmower technology since then, and my gym rat adult self would have no trouble maneuvering a mower around a typical 1/4 acre suburban lawn, and yet I look upon the day I buy a house with dread, that once again I will have to mow a lawn.

If only there were an autonomous version of this:

And there were some way to legally shield myself from prosecution when it inevitably mows down some neighborhood kid who gets a little too curious.
