I’ve been wanting a Bronco recently, and came across this:

Should I do it, Oppo? I like my Ranger, but now that I’m out of the Honeymoon phase, I don’t think I love it. It’s a solid truck that gets me from A-B but it doesn’t excite me.
UPDATE: No Bronco. Finally got Dad’s permission... and it was sold.

What year, miles, trim for your ranger? If you don’t really like it and thinks its worth a si
milar price to this then fuck it why not? That Bronco has a nice color to it.

2005 Ranger FX4 with 97500 ish miles. It does have a little bit of rust starting but easily fixable.

That’s s good price. Not much rust for CLE, looks like it was taken good care of. It’s not likely he’ll do a straight trade, but you’re not going to lose money on the Bronco as long as it’s in as good of condition as it looks in the photos.
It’s not exciting though. Just different. And old.

Depends on if you’ll have or need a reliable daily. Sounds like he’s selling it because of old truck things. The pricing on everything is insane right now. There’s a runner for $5,800 in my AO. Not as clean, but 10k is a lot to pay for shiny paint.

The big thing for me is the body style. My dad had one of this vintage so it hits me in the heartstrings. The upside is I live only a short ten minute drive from work. So while I would need a reliable daily, it wouldn’t be very far from home.
I’m basically trying to figure out if I even should talk to my dad about doing this or forget it altogether (as long as I live in his house, I gotta play by his rules, you know?)

I kinda feel pity for my Ranger thinking that way.
Is that weird? I do quite like it, I’m mostly content with it, I’m not anxious to just get it gone.
But damn I love a Bronco.

You gotta realize this is the rust belt. Most Broncos have disintegrated, especially the Bullnoses (80-86)

For me personally, it is exciting. I love these trucks. It’s a connection to my childhood. Dad had one.
I can only do a straight trade if I’m honest so if he said no to that, I’d just keep the Ranger.

Heck if you don’t I’m tempted to shoot him an offer of my Silverado. I don’t think I’d want the Bronco as a daily, but it’d be a great third vehicle.
