Miraculously with the help of plastic wrap and masking tape, the Corvette stayed dry inside despite being in 80+ mph winds and pouring rain . It’s absolutely filthy now though. Water got to 10 feet in our neighborhood, but luckily every house is slightly above that in areas where it mattered. A few people lost some shingles and fences, and at least one person got a ruined pool, but otherwise all was well. Another surprise is the competence of the local power company getting power back on within 16 hours, and with all the blue explosions during the storm, that was impressive. The community area lost a dock, but it was already a bit weathered. We actually finished building a dock on Tuesday(the supplies were there before the storm existed, and if we didn’t screw them down, they would 100% be gone) , and it held great. The community area actually gained some extra fishing area too, so that’s nice. It also lost almost all of it’s freshly cut grass. Here are some pics:

Another unexpected thing was the water clarity after the storm was better than I’ve ever seen it.

If you look on the concrete and in the grass, you can see the waterline. It’s above the 4Runner, and it’s sitting a few feet above sea level .

If we can keep the hurricane extremes at this, that’d be nice.

A coworker of mine is in New Orleans. A tree went through his dad's roof. No injuries, though.

4 of the 6 deaths were from trees. Trees are the enemy.

Zeta caused debris and a LOT of power outages around here. Traffic was a nightmare Thursday.   I thought it was a while for my power to take 15 hours to come back, but some people are STILL without. A million people lost power around here.

At least all is okay with you. The Alltrack got the dirtiest it’s been in a while.

Oh don’t get me wrong, pretty much the entire coast lost power here, but the power company got it done fast.
