Fuel pump issues. Covering 2017 - 2019 Highlanders and a bunch of other models.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Ours hasn’t acted up at all, but I’ll be taking it in for the repair as soon as it becomes available.
Most owners in the HL group on FB had no complaints about the recall repair except for a lingering gasoline smell after picking up their vehicles after the procedure . We’ll see if our situation ends up that way.

Wait, companies take responsibility when their vehicles have widespread problems?

Subaru recalled a bunch of models for the same issue (same Denso low pressure fuel pump). Amusingly, it’s only the US built cars that are recalled.

I actually just had the recall done on my lexus. It looks like all Toyota products are having the recall. Funny enough, my gas mileage has improved and full tank range. However, they only replace the pump not filter which kinda irked me, its like why do all that and not do the filter. ALSO, your car WILL smell like gas I went to pick mine up, and it immediately reeked. And I had them let me keep the loaner for 2 days due to the smell and then when I told them to detail it they told me “ our detailing company hasn’t been meeting our standards” I said whatever and took care of it myself. So if I were you due to you having a family and all just have them leave it an extra day with the windows down. My seat was kinda loose too, but I just readjusted it and it is all now. So heads up on what you’ll be getting yourself in to.

Any issues? How long did they have the vehicle?

Thanks! I might bring it home and leave the windows slightly down and leave it outside for a bit. The window vent visors I installed will keep rain out.
We can use my 6 for family transport until the smell airs out.

They gave me a loaner, the actual work takes them about four hours. They ask you have 1/2 of gas or less as it gets heavy for the tech to drop the tank

Since our Highlander is my wife’s car, it usually always shows on E when I drive it anyway. So, we’re safe there.
