“childhood” sigh.

For me, childhood is Eagles & Steely Dan.

Meteora was the first LP album I got into but then remember getting super into Hybrid Theory. Still love listening to it today.

I would have been 7 at the time. My introduction to this album and the band was “In the End” and “Crawling” procured from Napster through a coworker of my dad.

Steely Dan was a big part of my childhood, too (thanks to my parents). I was the weird kid among friends and acquaintances.

I actually recently acquired a few of the Steely Dan cds I was missing in my library.

I really liked “In the End”, at least the first 5000 times I heard it.

That one certainly got played to death over time - it was cool when it was new though!

Meteora is probably my favorite album of theirs - they seemed to reach their stride - basically Hybrid Theory but a step further.

I always associate “Numb” with the times I used to roller skate frequently. We had a local roller rink that was a really fun place to be ( it’s now a church, unfortunately ). They had a ridiculous sound system, which included four Bose Acoustic Wave Cannons for sub-woofers ( if I remember correctly ), similar to below .

Those m ade the intro to that song incredible - at least to 10 year old me .

Hard to believe it’s been that long.  I’m feeling much older tonight.

Linkin Park was one the groups at the first rock concert I ever went to, back in 2001. Of the four bands that were there three of the lead vocalists have since di ed and the fourth turned into a solo country singer.

That’s awesome. I don’t remember if my old rink would play bands like Linkin Park. My older brother got some speaker for christmas that year and my goodness did we ever blast Meteora!
