One tremendously valuable tool in my !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has been !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , which allows me to not only search other car sites but also Craigslist nationwide. It’s a bit janky but it works.

Via Reddit, I recently discovered something more robust for Facebook, targeting classic cars.

Specifically, the forum for !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! includes a bunch of threads for cars of collector interest:

Have you found a better way to get actual search results from Facebook marketplace? I’ll sometimes look up something like a TSX manual and get a BUNCH of TLs, Lexus ES, IS, etc. all mixed in. I know there’s a balance of giving me some extra noise to plow through so I spend more time on the site, but it’s almost useless to the point I barely use it.

BTW, you guys put me onto SearchTempest, which is a wonderful replacement for SearchAllJunk. HOWEVER, AutoTempest (for me anyway) is bad, terrible in fact. Lousy hits, too much junk, not even that helpful regionally. Some of the other car online sites must have their hooks in that one— or are subverting the search returns.

Since I don’t have a FB account I don’t spend much time there at all, too hard to contact a seller. S orry can’t offer any advice but hopefully someone else has some tricks.

One ad looked promising... 4.0, m anual, body in decent shape, hard and soft tops, full and half door sets, cruise ...

Went to go see it in person, and the frame looked ok but the body mounts were rusted away. I w as trying to decide whether that was a dealbreaker or something that I’d be willing to tackle a s I continued to look underneath, when I noticed the fan shroud looked suspiciously large... and that’s when I popped the hood to find a four- cylinder , NOT a four- liter . Welp, I guess there’s the dealbreaker I was keeping an eye out for.

If you have FB, can you tell whether there’s a phone number or other contact info on this ad? There’s a hidden block when browsing it anonymously which makes me think there’s something useful there.
